How it works
Charge. Pull. Light.
When the power goes out, your Wi-Fi dies. Your phone can usually still call and text, and newer iPhones can even text and reach 911 by satellite with no signal at all. As long as it has battery. That’s where the lantern comes in.
1It charges itself. Then your phone.
Leave it in the sun, or plug in the USB cable (about 4 hours, per the maker). Then plug your phone into its USB port to top it up.
2Pull it open
Pull the top up. It lights up. The higher you pull, the brighter it gets.
3Hang it or stand it
Flip the wire handles up to hang it, or set it on any table.

Sound familiar?
The lights go out. The kids go quiet.
You dig through the drawer in the dark. Your phone says 12%. The candles are somewhere.

- Your phone light eats the battery you need for calls.
- Candles near kids and pets? Not a chance.
- The flashlight in the drawer? Dead batteries. Again.

The Pop-Up Solar Lantern
Pull it open. The room lights up.
- No batteries to buy: the sun or a USB cable charges it
- No flame, no hot glass: safe near kids and pets
- Pull it higher for more light. Close it for a flashlight
One in every room
Ready for the night the power goes out.

Power cut
The lights go out. Dinner keeps going.
Pull it open in the middle of the table. Everyone can see their plate, their cards, their homework. Nobody panics.
- Lights up the whole table
- No open flame

Storm night
Ready before the storm hits
Charge them now. When the storm knocks the power out at 9 p.m., you’re not hunting for batteries. You just pull one open.
- No batteries to buy
- Charges in the sun or by USB

For the kids
Light they can carry
About 8 oz, with a wire handle sized for small hands. They walk to the bathroom with their own light. No candles near them.

Camping
Hang it in the tent
Flip up the wire handle and hang it from the tent loop. Closed, it’s the size of a soda can. It fits in any backpack.

Backyard
Patio nights, no cords
Set two on the table. No outlet, no extension cord, no bugs flying into a flame.
The details
Small. Simple. Made for the dark.
No app, no bulbs, no batteries. Just pull.
Solar panel on top
Pull higher. Get brighter.
Closed, it’s a flashlight
Soda-can small

I didn’t know what to expect considering some of the crazy stuff I’ve purchased in the past it didn’t turn out to be what I thought it was going to be. These little things are nifty I put one in four different rooms In case the electric goes off. They’re really neat and actually pop up and look like an old-time lantern or you can close them and use them from the other end like a flashlight.
You can either use a USB to charge them or solar if the electrics out. Great value for the money in my opinion. Might even put one in the car. - SunshineSeptember 26, 2026 · United States
