  1. Filling the frosted water tank under the lifted-off locomotive body

    Lift off the black locomotive body and fill the tank underneath with water, below the max line.

  2. Adding a few drops of essential oil to the water tank

    Add 2-3 drops of essential oil (your free oil set gets you started), then put the body back on.

    Plug it in and press MIST on the front of the train or on the remote. Scented mist puffs from the chimney while the flames glow.

Where are the buttons?

Right on the front of the train. MIST starts the puffs, LIGHT switches between a warm amber and a cool blue glow, and Timing sets the timer. It turns itself off when the water runs out.

The buttons are the three clear-ish looking tubes on the front of the train. It can do yellow or blue color, continuous or spurts of steam, and can be put on a timer.

    The perfect decoration and diffuser

Questions buyers ask

Is it real steam? Does it get hot?

No. It’s a cool ultrasonic mist that puffs out of the chimney like steam. Nothing heats up and there’s no flame.

Where does the water go?

Lift off the black locomotive body. The 300 ml tank is underneath. Fill it with water below the max line, add 2-3 drops of oil and put the body back on.

Where are the buttons? Do I need the remote?

The three small clear buttons on the front of the train are MIST, LIGHT and Timing, so it works without the remote. The remote is there for the couch: it takes 2 AAA batteries (not included) and works best pointed at the train from nearby.

What’s in the free oil set?

Every train comes with a free essential oil set in the box, at no extra cost, so you can start right away. The 2-train bundle comes with 2 sets. Any diffuser oil works too.

Does it make train sounds?

No. There’s no built-in whistle or chugging. While it runs you’ll only hear a soft hum and, now and then, a little gurgle of water. The train sound in our videos is a sound effect we added.

How much mist does it make? Is it a humidifier?

Soft puffs, mostly from the front chimney. It’s made to scent and decorate one spot, like a mantel, a shelf or a desk. It isn’t a room humidifier.

How long does it run on one fill?

It depends on the mist setting. You don’t have to watch it: it switches itself off when the water runs out, and the Timing button sets a timer.

Can I use it with just water, or only as a light?

Yes. Plain water still gives you the puffs and the glow ; add a few drops whenever you want a scent. Owners also run the warm or blue glow on its own.

Does it plug in or use batteries?

It plugs into the wall with the included adapter (100-240 V). The train doesn’t run on batteries ; only the remote takes 2 AAA (not included).

How do I keep it clean?

Empty leftover water after use, wipe the tank with a soft cloth and keep water out of the fan opening. Don’t fill past the max line. Many owners use distilled water.

Is it OK around kids and pets?

It’s home decor, not a toy. Place it up high on a stable shelf or mantel, out of reach of children and pets, and check that the oils you use suit your pets.

How big is it? Is it metal?

About 9.4 x 3.3 x 5.4 in (240 x 83 x 138 mm), a size that fits a mantel, shelf or desk. It’s matte-black ABS plastic with a PP water tank.
